Ok, so I'm a little behind in this week's post. Not only is the post late but the picture is also a few days late as well. It was actually taken at 14 weeks 3 days, but who's counting right?! ;o)
Well this week's news, besides the picture...I had my next OB appt on Thursday. I was exactly 14 weeks that day. The midwife used the doppler so we got to hear the baby's heartbeat loud and clear. My sister came along to chit chat with the midwife a bit since she just got accepted into nursing/midwifery school in Chicago. It was a pretty quick appointment, as most of them will be, hopefully! The baby's heartbeat was 150bpm and sounded perfect!
We have also received our first few baby items! It's been so fun! We have our very first outfit and bib! Now we just need the baby to get here so that he/she can wear it all!
The last bit of this post is kind of funny. We went to visit my family over the holiday weekend. My sister was with us for the 6 hr car ride, and after a while, it's pretty easy to get a little slap happy when cooped up that long. We started discussing names for the baby, and of course all names suggested were completely outrageous and not a bit serious, but we did manage to come up with quite the name for our little bambino while still in-utero. All three of us are BIG fans of The Big Bang Theory on CBS. As we ran the gammot of names from the show it was officially decided that the baby is to now be refered to as "Koothrappali Kuntz" until born. Raj Koothrappali is one of the characters on the show, and we thought it had a nice flow with our last name :o) It's been quite commical to refer to the baby as Koothrappali all weekend, and others who watch the show have gotten a big kick out of it as well. Ha!
Well now that I've written a book,I guess that's bound to happen when I don't update in over a week...here comes this week's belly shot :o)
My blog began as a way to vent my frustrations surrounding our struggle with infertility. I am now ELATED that it has moved from an infertility to pregnancy blog and finally our baby blog! The scars of infertility will never fade completely, and truthfully I don't want them to. Infertility has impacted our lives in a way nothing else ever could, and I'm very grateful for all it has taught me. At some point we will probably be traveling down this road again in order to complete our family, but for now we are enjoying our amazing little guy! He's so much more perfect than we ever imagined he could be. I guess it's true what they say...good things DO come to those who wait! :o)
Aw, you look so cute! Loving the baby bump. We LOVE Big Bang Theory too! It is hilarious. And I don't even have a degree in anything science related. Glad to hear things are progressing nicely. The first few baby things are so exciting!! How is your break going? Resting a lot?
