My blog began as a way to vent my frustrations surrounding our struggle with infertility. I am now ELATED that it has moved from an infertility to pregnancy blog and finally our baby blog! The scars of infertility will never fade completely, and truthfully I don't want them to. Infertility has impacted our lives in a way nothing else ever could, and I'm very grateful for all it has taught me. At some point we will probably be traveling down this road again in order to complete our family, but for now we are enjoying our amazing little guy! He's so much more perfect than we ever imagined he could be. I guess it's true what they say...good things DO come to those who wait! :o)

24 Weeks

Another week down...hard to believe we're only four months away from meeting our little guy!  He's one active little thing, that's for sure! He's already trying to keep up with his big brother :o)

I don't have much to talk about this week.  He's getting bigger and stronger.  The kicks and punches are getting harder/stronger all the time.  Such a reassuring feeling!  It actually feels strange when my belly ISN'T moving, compared to when it is.  He's big enough that I can see my belly moving at times too.  Matthew still hasn't been able to see it.  Every time I get his attention, then Scout stops moving.

Griffin has started spilling the beans on the baby's real name.  We always knew it was a possibility that people would find out the name earlier than we planned if we told G this soon, but we also felt like we needed to get him used to the idea that the baby's name isn't really going to be Scout.  He definitely was not a fan of the name we picked out, at first, but he's come around, thank goodness!  He says his prayers at night, and prays for the baby, calling him by name.  What's funnier though, is he still prays for Baby Scout as well.  We're trying to get him to understand that Baby Scout and Baby ____ are the same person, but he insists on praying for them both separately.

This past weekend was really enjoyable.  Griffin and Sophie (the dog) spent Saturday day and night at grandma and grandpa's, which meant Matthew and I had uninterrupted adult time.  We weren't really sure what to do with ourselves!  We had all day to run errands without little hands grabbing at every shelf, and the car rides around town were so quiet!  We  had tickets to see White Christmas, the musical, Saturday night, so we got a grown up dinner beforehand, and saw the show.  It was great!  White Christmas is my absolute favorite Christmas movie, so when the stage musical was coming to town, his parent's bought us the tickets for our anniversary present.  It was a great show.  Although no one can compare to Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye, the two actors playing their characters did a great job.  We fully enjoyed our kid free time, but of course, missed our little buddy too.

Well here comes the weekly picture.  The belly is getting bigger day by day :o)

22 & 23 Weeks

Well I'm behind again...no surprise there :o)  The last couple of weeks have brought about a resurgence of the muscle/rib pain I had in my last pregnancy.  I was really hoping to avoid it this time around.  The doctor told me when I was pregnant with G, that it was because my because my muscles, tendons, ligaments, etc were being stretched further and faster than they'd ever been, which totally makes sense.  I was really hoping everything was already stretched out, and I wouldn't have to deal with it again, but no such luck.  It's not only in my sides this time, but has also migrated to my back.  All week long, after meals, the pain in my sides would start, and soon after came the back pain. It always got worse with Griffin when he was going through a growth spurt, and I think the same thing is happening with this baby as well.  My belly has gotten quite a bit bigger, (I think any way) and that always brought about the worst pain before.

Anyway, enough of my complaining.  I guess if that's the worst I have to deal with while pregnant, then I don't have much to complain about :o)  Overall pregnancy has always been very good to me, so hopefully these little spells are short lived when they decide to come around.

Griffin is getting more and more excited about his baby brother.  He has started giving "Baby Scout" kisses and hugs on a regular basis.  It makes his mommy very happy!

Well, here are the pics from the last two weeks.  Baby K 2.0 is definitely growing!
