My blog began as a way to vent my frustrations surrounding our struggle with infertility. I am now ELATED that it has moved from an infertility to pregnancy blog and finally our baby blog! The scars of infertility will never fade completely, and truthfully I don't want them to. Infertility has impacted our lives in a way nothing else ever could, and I'm very grateful for all it has taught me. At some point we will probably be traveling down this road again in order to complete our family, but for now we are enjoying our amazing little guy! He's so much more perfect than we ever imagined he could be. I guess it's true what they say...good things DO come to those who wait! :o)

24 Weeks

Another week down...hard to believe we're only four months away from meeting our little guy!  He's one active little thing, that's for sure! He's already trying to keep up with his big brother :o)

I don't have much to talk about this week.  He's getting bigger and stronger.  The kicks and punches are getting harder/stronger all the time.  Such a reassuring feeling!  It actually feels strange when my belly ISN'T moving, compared to when it is.  He's big enough that I can see my belly moving at times too.  Matthew still hasn't been able to see it.  Every time I get his attention, then Scout stops moving.

Griffin has started spilling the beans on the baby's real name.  We always knew it was a possibility that people would find out the name earlier than we planned if we told G this soon, but we also felt like we needed to get him used to the idea that the baby's name isn't really going to be Scout.  He definitely was not a fan of the name we picked out, at first, but he's come around, thank goodness!  He says his prayers at night, and prays for the baby, calling him by name.  What's funnier though, is he still prays for Baby Scout as well.  We're trying to get him to understand that Baby Scout and Baby ____ are the same person, but he insists on praying for them both separately.

This past weekend was really enjoyable.  Griffin and Sophie (the dog) spent Saturday day and night at grandma and grandpa's, which meant Matthew and I had uninterrupted adult time.  We weren't really sure what to do with ourselves!  We had all day to run errands without little hands grabbing at every shelf, and the car rides around town were so quiet!  We  had tickets to see White Christmas, the musical, Saturday night, so we got a grown up dinner beforehand, and saw the show.  It was great!  White Christmas is my absolute favorite Christmas movie, so when the stage musical was coming to town, his parent's bought us the tickets for our anniversary present.  It was a great show.  Although no one can compare to Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye, the two actors playing their characters did a great job.  We fully enjoyed our kid free time, but of course, missed our little buddy too.

Well here comes the weekly picture.  The belly is getting bigger day by day :o)
